New York Mets

According to an official with one of the teams involved, the New York Mets have asked the Chicago White Sox about the availability of pitcher Jose Contreras.
The official said the Mets would be more likely to give up top minor-league talent for Contreras than they would for Mark Buehrle.

It's called spin...devalue the player you really have interest in. Although I'd pass on both.

You'll take Contreras and like it!

Contreras is supposably 35,born in 71, that's Cuban years, he's probably early 40's in real years. We'll trade you two playoff tickets, some mean ass salsa and a slightly used Coltrane CD for him.

I'll take it if you pay the rest of his contract.

Mets take 5 of 6 from the Cards. Small consolation for last year's NLCS.

2 great catch's by Gomez last night.
Wright goes yard and great pitching game by Glavine.
Every damn game had rain issues last night.
KrazyKRAZY
Nice to see Glavine regain some of his early season swagger on the mound (wish he wouldn't occasionally get behind the opposing hitter in balls over strikes).
Ozzie Nelson
He has to. His strikes are too easy to hit. He relies on hitters to swing at balls or very borderline strikes.
KrazyKRAZY
Well...when Pedro comes back here's MY lineup (rotation):
Pedro
Oliver (although he needs to close out innings a bit better)
Glavine
Maine (I would be upset the least if he moves up to the 3 spot over Tom)
ElDuque ($$ pitcher....IF he can stay healthy. If not then Sosa can take that spot).
Ozzie Nelson
Kraze...watch where his catcher sets up. In many cases, his "wildness" is actually good control of his stuff. When he is wild he throws sure strikes when he doesn't want to.
Listen to Oz.

Double dip horse whuppin' of Southie's perennial dark horses. Mets are rolling again, surviving their June slump, taking last 7 of 8. Dark horses are going with a staff of minor leaguers due to injuries. They soon will be dust.
John Maine is the true ace of the Mets staff, 9-4, 2.74, 1.15. The kid has been rock solid this year. Minaya traded suck ass Kris Benson to the O's for Maine and Jorge Julio. Minaya then shipped Julio to the D'backs for El Duque. He also stole Oliver Perez from the Pirates for Xavier Nady. Best damn GM in the game, bar none.

Ok break time is over. Time to vanquish the squaws.

Perez is coming back, thankfully

3.5 game lead, 4 in the loss column. Mets take on Pitt and the Nats at home over the next 6. Time to put some distance between them and the squaws.

great game yesterday. Thought maybe Green was going to mess it up for us when he dropped that ball in the rundown.
His bat was nice though yesterday.
Gotay didn't look good yesterday. we need him to step up.
